On The Rescue mission

yesterday i had reached the zoo after the first demo as i had some pending work in the college. shaikat had handed over my identity card. He was confident on my handling and sent me for the rescue with ramakrishna at alwyn colony kukatpally. It was a long drive for us. we had just reached alwyn colony and inquiring about the address of the caller. we got an call from him that it had been killed. I felt very sorry that we were just late by 5 mins.we went there and found that it is an checkered keelback. The person who killed it was aware that it is an non-poisonous snake. Even though he killed it. We are returning back to the zoo. We got a call from shaikat to attend another rescue in attapur. Ramakrishna had already attempted the rescue day before day and left it as the snake was hiding in a rat hole and impossible to rescue. Me and Ramakrishna had reached the spot and saw a head peeping out of the hole. We identified it as an rat snake and jumped immediately into action. The snake was hiding in the hole for the last 2 days and not venturing out(as per the people said). We found that i might not have any other entrance to exit. we had cleared the shrubs and plants near it and tried to locate it. But it is not visible. we dug a hole enough to peep into the hole(an hour effort 3feet wide). The rat snake was hiding in the hole comfortably and made its home. The adjacent house owners are trowing garbage into the plot. So the rat snake got full food (rats) that's why it is not leaving the area. After some time we found that it is impossible to rescue as the hole got deeper into the house basement and the snake is not visible. we had educated the house owner that its harmless. They said that they will not bother living adjacent to a ratsnake. we were happy for that and returned back to the our houses
